Matrix Theatre Writers' Circle “Do You See It Coming?” was created in a collaborative writing process with the Matrix Theatre Company in Southwest Detroit. More than 20 individuals between the ages of 18-75 met weekly to discuss the problems facing Southeastern Michigan and collectively found ways to address those topics through playwriting. Since 1991, Matrix Theatre Company has mounted a series of groundbreaking productions based on and around important community issues. With the creation of more than 120 new scripts, the organization is leading the charge of finding ways to turn community voices into powerful productions. For more information about the Matrix Theatre Writers Group and the work of Matrix Theatre Company, please contact Amy Thomas at [email protected]. Check out this video by the Writers' Circle as they discuss their thoughts and feelings about what it's like to be a Detroiter today.
